New look for Opel Astra
This model includes standard features, such as air-conditioning, 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connection, LED daytime running lights, remote control central locking, cruise control and steering wheel-mounted controls and leather-covered steering wheel, plus a host of advanced safety features.
Also new to the Astra is Opel’s ‘whisper diesel’ engine, which now has two power outputs from its 1.6CDTI — one with 110bhp and the other with 136bhp.
The lower-powered version has an updated emissions figure of just 94 g/km of CO2 and will use the equivalent of 3.6 litres of diesel per 100km.
The 136bhp variant now only emits 99g/km of CO2 (five grams less than before) and needs 3.7 litres of diesel per 100km.
Opel has also welcomed the Astra OPC, which produces more power and torque than any car in its class and will achieve a sub-six-second 0-100km time.
The OPC includes a mechanical, limited-slip differential, 19-inch rims in its kit-list, and benefits from a raft of bespoke-chassis modifications.
