Opel's Irish launch for Mokka and Insignia
The event will run from February 16-27 will be held in Dublin and Kildare with the event based at the Druids Glen Hotel & Resort in Wicklow.
Opel will be launching a new whisper 1.6 litre turbo diesel engine in the Opel Mokka and a new 2.0 litre turbo diesel engine in the Insignia.
Speaking on why Ireland was selected as the location for this prestigious international event, Johan Willems, Member of the Board and Vice President Communications Opel Group said: “Opel is currently in the process of a major product offensive with 27 new models and 17 new engines due to be introduced before 2018.
“In recognition that Ireland is also on the path of a comeback, Opel wanted to launch two engines of major significance for the company here. In addition, we have good memories of Ireland, as we’ve done an International press event almost 20 years ago on the occasion of the then new Opel Vectra Caravan diesel, thus we are closing the loop and coming back with new efficient diesel engines to a country where it’s easy to get a hearty welcome.”
