In one of the biggest deals in the motoring trade in 2014, the acquisition of Windsor Motors consolidates Kearys’ position as Cork’s largest motor group, and it now becomes the exclusive name for Nissan in Cork. As part of the acquisition, Kearys secured all 16 jobs of the former Windsor Motors team.
Speaking at the launch of Kearys Motorworld, Bill Keary, managing director of Kearys Motor Group, said: “This is a great day for us at Kearys. We have a state-of-the-art, new, flagship Nissan showroom that offers all of the latest Nissan cars, along with used cars, servicing, parts and much more.
“We have the stunning, new Nissan Pulsar now on display and we welcome car-lovers, and anyone in the market to buy a 151 C Nissan, to call in to see us and see what fantastic deals are to be had.”
Leading the new Kearys’ Motorworld is sales manager, Kelvin Flanagan.
Kearys are one of Ireland’s largest motor groups, with a number of dealerships around Cork city and county. Ireland’s newest Nissan dealer, Kearys also represent Hyundai, Renault, BMW, MINI, Motorrad and Dacia.
To coincide with the launch, Bernard Fitzpatrick, from Maryborough Hill, in Douglas, won a new 151 Nissan Juke in a game called ‘Kearys Finders Keepers’.
Best garage winner
Quick Fit Car, in Little Island, Cork, has been crowned the best garage in Ireland, collecting the ‘independent workshop of the year 2015’ award at the Irish Auto Trade Association’s awards ceremony in the Citywest Hotel, Dublin.
“We would like to thank everyone who supported us over the years”, said Seamus O’Brien, MD, Quick Fit Cars, “and we’re delighted that we’ve been able to attain such a high standard, not only being voted ‘best garage in Munster’ by the Irish Auto Trade Association, but also going on to win ‘best garage in Ireland’ for 2015. It’s a wonderful endorsement, one which I know all of us at Quick Fit will work hard to retain.”
Mondeo is safest
The all-new Ford Mondeo has been awarded the maximum five-star safety rating by independent crash-test authority, Euro NCAP.
The new Mondeo, which has arrived in Ireland, is the first Ford worldwide to offer pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection. The technology is designed to detect people on the road ahead — or who may cross the vehicle’s path — and automatically apply the brakes if the driver does not respond to warnings.
Also introduced for the first time in Europe is Ford’s inflatable rear seatbelt technology — a segment-first for Mondeo. In the event of an accident, the seatbelt can expand to disperse crash forces across a body area five times greater than that achieved by a conventional seatbelt.
“This is the most technologically advanced Ford vehicle ever introduced in Europe. Through features like pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, and inflatable rear seatbelt, we’ve delivered safety features that provide exceptional protection for drivers, passengers and pedestrians alike,” said Ciaran McMahon, managing director designate, Ford Ireland.
Available as a five-door model and wagon, as well as the four-door Mondeo Hybrid, the Mondeo is the first hybrid vehicle to be built and sold by Ford in Europe.
