Volkswagen to recall 1,256 Polos
Volkswagen Ireland is recalling a number of Polo 1.2 TDIs produced between 2010 and 2014 and fitted with the 1.2 TDI 70bhp engine.
The recall affects 1,256 Polo 1.2 TDIs in Ireland. In isolated cases, because of the pressure pulsations in the fuel lines and the engine pulsations when driving, vibrations can be transmitted to the cover of the fuel filter.
This can crack the filter cover in the supply neck and can lead to a fuel smell inside the vehicle and a leak of diesel. VW says there is no cause for concern and letters will be sent to owners of the affected vehicles, in which they will be asked to arrange an appointment to have the work completed at their authorised Volkswagen service agent.
