Peugeot Boxer named ‘van of the year’ by motor press

The announcement was made at a gala event in the prestigious Powerscourt Hotel in Co. Wicklow, attended by the 20-strong jury and leading figures from the Irish motor industry. The Peugeot Boxer was also the ‘Panel Van of the Year’ category winner. Each van was judged on practicality, efficiency and running costs, safety, payload and load-volume capacity, value-for-money and ease-of-use.

The Peugeot Boxer, and its sister vehicles, beat stiff competition in their category from the Ford Transit, Opel Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Opel Movano, Renault Master and Iveco Daily to take top spot in the panel-van category, before a landslide victory in the overall title.

Des Cannon, managing director at Gowan Distributors Limited, Peugeot importers in Ireland, said: “The latest accolade for Peugeot in Ireland comes as we’re celebrating the youngest ever Peugeot range and is testament to the resounding quality of our passenger-car and van range. A clear winner at the APMP award ceremony, the new Peugeot Boxer van has set the segment benchmark today for large panel vans, in terms of load capacity, efficiency and practicality.”
