The festival which attracts up to 10,000 visitors over two weeks is now in its fifth year and is supported by Kearys BMW.

Oktoberfest Beag and BMW share historic connections, as the German brand of luxury automobiles has its international headquarters in Munich, Germany.

Oktoberfest Beag will return to the historic Beamish and Crawford brewery site on South Main Street, Cork from September 11 to 20.

Festivities will swing into action between 4pm and 10:30pm and will include table service by pretty frauleins who will serve a selection of traditional Bavarian dishes and refreshments.

There will a variety of entertainment throughout the festival with special performances by the famous Edelweiss Oompah Brass Band each evening.

Brendan Keary, Director at Kearys BMW said: “We are very proud to become associate sponsor of Oktoberfest Beag for 2014. It is encouraging to see an event, now in its fifth year, continue to prosper. Cork has always been a thriving tourism hub so it is no surprise that Oktoberfest Beag has become such a successful element to Cork’s annual calendar of events.

Festival organiser Daryl Cronin, promises that this year’s event will meet and exceed all expectations. He said; “This year’s Oktoberfest Beag is going to bigger, better and ‘Über’ than ever before.

Oktoberfest Beag is well established at this stage and clearly appeals to a wide audience. It is a tremendous coup for the city. We are seeing great interest again this year from the corporate sector as well as sports and social groups, who are looking for a cost effective and fun way to entertain their staff and that is exactly what Oktoberfest Beag offers.”

Brendan Keary went onto say: “We are delighted to give a nod to the heritage of BMW through support of Oktoberfest Beag in Cork and give a chance for not only German visitors to enjoy a feeling of home, but for locals to enjoy a alternative cultural and social event in the heart of our diverse and wonderful city.”

For individuals and corporate groups looking to make a booking, be advised that table reservations and general tickets are currently on sale and are selling fast.
