New VW Passat due to impress

Along with the forthcoming new Ford Mondeo, the new Volkswagen Passat will be one of the most important new cars launched this year and last week — at the impressive Volkswagen Design Centre in Potsdam — the new car got its world premiere.

Volkswagen says the new car, which it promises will ‘melt away class boundaries,’ will be launched with new engines, less weight and the latest assistance, Infotainment and convenience systems.

According to Volkswagen Ireland operations director Paul Burke, “This new Passat really is a game changer and we expect it to be hugely popular for us in 2015,” he said.
