YOU’D have to think that there are a lot of smug people these days at Toyota and the Japanese giants’ luxury car arm, Lexus.

And you’d also have to think they have every right to be smug.

Toyota (and, by extension, Lexus) have pioneered the whole idea of the Hybrid, a car powered by a combination of the traditional internal combustion engine and a battery motivated secondary electric motor.
