Even in its garish, snot-green colour, the RS not only gripped your imagination, but each and every one of your senses. It was a ribald driving experience, even in an urban environment, and truly epic when you let it off the leash.

The ST Focus is the third in a line of sub-RS machines and while some might pooh-pooh the ST as the poor relation of its testosterone-heavy sibling, that’s unfair on a car that has breathed new life into an almost moribund market.
