Andy Murray believes Australian bad boy Nick Kyrgios should be cut some slack while he matures and learns to handle his emotions on the court.

Andy Murray hardly broke sweat as the British number one strolled into the Wimbledon third round with a straight-sets victory over Robin Haase.

Novak Djokovic was far from his fluent best but the defending champion did enough to beat Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber in straights sets and move safely into the second round at Wimbledon.

“In the last couple of years I haven’t been playing any lead-up tournament to Wimbledon and I still managed to play finals two years ago and to win the title last year.”

Andy Murray will play Kazakhstan’s Mikhail Kukushkin in the first round at Wimbledon and has also been drawn in the same quarter as Rafael Nadal.
