A key landowner in Cork’s sprawling south docklands has backed O’Callaghan Properties’ €50m Albert Quay events centre project.

City councillors have called for several quick-fix measures to be introduced to minimise flood risk in Cork while the city waits for a €50m flood defence scheme.

The Government has committed to spend at least €50m on a flood defence scheme for Cork City, with preferred engineering options due to be published in July.
