US spy satellites have detected signs that North Korea has restarted its nuclear plant, it was reported today.

US intelligence analysts have detected slight “increases of activity” around a North Korean nuclear plant but have made no “hard conclusions” on whether the country is reprocessing nuclear fuel for potential weapons use, US officials said yesterday.

DESPITE hints by North Korea that it might withdraw from the global nuclear nonproliferation treaty, South Korea yesterday said dialogue is the only viable way to resolve the dispute peacefully.
