IRELAND is in line to achieve ambitious employment growth despite current job losses and the downturn in the economy, according to a major EU report just released.

New figures released today show there were 173,563 people on the live register last month.

The loss of 400 jobs at Tellabs in Shannon is expected to be raised with Transport Minister Seamus Brennan, who visits the area today.
