AN investigation into the circumstances that led to a young girl being unable to fly to a London hospital for a liver transplant is expected to be completed in two to three weeks.

The father of a Leitrim teenager who missed out on a liver transplant because of problems in getting to London, has described the moment he got the call telling them the organ would be given to someone else.

THE owners of a commuter aircraft, which overshot the runway with 40 passengers on board, including rock group Aslan, and ended up with its nose in the sea, have blamed the accident on bad weather.

There are no reports of any injuries after a plane overshot a runway this evening.
