GERARD MOONEY (Letters, August 11) is rightly concerned with the recent deaths of cyclists and the attitude of many motorists to cyclists in general.

JUST a few thoughts on how we might punish those who have brought our country to economic hardship, Prison sentences would be great, but they would be extremely hard and very expensive to get, solicitors fees would surely run into the millions of euro, and even if they got a prison sentence they would be left out on temporary release, in about one third of the time, due to over-crowding.
