Police in England have released mobile phone footage of a man snorting cocaine from the barrel of a sawn-off shotgun which helped to convict him and two teenagers of firearm offences.

Violence flared in Liverpool overnight for up to five hours as hundreds of rioters marauded through the streets to the south of the city centre.

Violence has broken out in Liverpool with police dealing with “a number of isolated outbreaks of disorder” in the south of the city, Merseyside Police said.
