A UK ferry company has released bizarre footage of a seagull stealing £20 in coins from the day’s takings.

An urgent safety review of Cumbria’s 1,800 bridges was under way today with emergency services warning one bridge could collapse at any time and 50mph winds forecast.

A canoeist pulled from a river during stormy conditions in the UK died, the fire service said.
