Plans are being advanced for the creation of a €200m motorway joining Ringaskiddy in east Cork with the Jack Lynch Tunnel, because the EU designated the project as vital infrastructure.

A SERIES of operations by customs officers in the south-west in recent days have netted tens of thousands of euro worth of contraband cigarettes, alcohol and drugs as well as a number of vehicles.
