Four men linked to al Qaida were jailed today over a foiled plot to attack US targets in Germany that could have caused massive devastation.

A US marine who disappeared in Iraq and turned up in Lebanon nearly three weeks later said today he was in good health and “excited to be going home,” but military officials said his flight to the US had been put back until tomorrow.
