A Kilkenny man who was accused of striking his friend on the head with a rock and attempting to set him on fire will be sentenced at the Central Criminal Court today.

The jury in the trial of a Kilkenny man accused of attempted murder will begin their deliberations on a verdict tomorrow at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin.

A Kilkenny man accused of attempting to murder a friend he thought had HIV, told his cousin he “had seriously assaulted somebody” on the morning of the alleged incident, the Central Criminal Court heard today.
