A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Noel Duggan in Co Meath last month.

Garda checkpoints and armed patrols are back in the heartland of the Kinahan cartel in south Dublin to prevent retaliation for the “barbaric” murder of Hutch associate Noel Duggan.

Gardaí fear a further round of bloodshed in the Kinahan-Hutch feud after a long-time associate of Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch was gunned down in Co Meath last night.

A 38-year-old man on trial for murdering his mother told gardaí he battered her to death because she was domineering and "wrecking" his head, the Central Criminal Court heard today.
