A prisoner remanded in jail on burglary charges renewed his application to be released on bail on compassionate grounds to attend his sister’s funeral yesterday.

With reference to recent reports in the Irish Examiner on the excellent work being carried out by the Cork Penny Dinners charity, it’s interesting to note that this charity was founded at a meeting in the Imperial Hotel on Mar 12, 1888.
