JAMES N O’SULLIVAN (Letters, August 17) sees the legal guarantees secured by Ireland at the June European Council as a cynical pretext for another referendum.

SOLICITOR John B McGylnn, who misappropriated €200,000 and left deficits of nearly €600,000 in client accounts, was struck off the solicitors’ roll by the president of the High Court Mr Justice Richard Johnson yesterday.
