A soup kitchen charity in Cork believes its free first communion clothes initiative for families struggling to meet the costs of the big day should be replicated across the country.

The bookies think today’s Cork Person of the Year award winner will either be a world gold medallist or a woman who voluntarily helps feed people who have fallen on hard times.
