IT HAS been reported (Irish Examiner, October 7) that the Irish Medical Organisation has warned that, as a form of ongoing protest from October 31, its GPs will not collect vaccines from health boards which don’t have a courier system. It appears “the issue of transporting dangerous substances is not a new one”.

DR FENTON HOWELL attempted to refute a link between the MMR vaccine and autism by pointing to a new study from the Karonliska Institute in Stockholm, which claims that babies developed autism as a consequence of their mothers smoking during pregnancy (Irish Examiner Letters, July 27).
