A Cork satellite town will play host to a national motorcycle racing event for the first time.

ONE garda was hospitalised with a serious eye injury and his colleague was chased by a man with a slash hook after a disturbance at a Travellers’ campsite on Sunday morning and early afternoon.

Bail was refused tonight to three men facing charges arising out of a serious disturbance at a Travellers’ campsite following the death of a man in a car crash at the weekend.
