A paramedic has today told a Dublin murder trial that there was so much blood at the scene when he arrived that he could not kneel down beside the victim.

The victim of a fatal gangland style shooting on the outskirts of Dublin managed to drive away from his attackers while wounded, it emerged today.

The Irish Nurses Organistaion last night called for an investigation by the Health and Safety Authority into overcrowding at the Accident and Emergency departments of Dublin's main hospitals.
