West Cork town Clonakilty may have an Aldi store next year across the road from a recently opened Lidl, following a reported €2m sale of the high-profile Waterfront site yesterday.

An Bord Pleanála has rejected its own inspector’s recommendation and also overturned a town council decision to approve planning for a proposed Lidl supermarket in Clonakilty, Co Cork.
