CRAIG MURPHY (Togher) finished third in the junior race in Hannut yesterday when he led with 400m to go, only to be out-sprinted by Jeroen D’Houdt from Belgium, who won by just seven seconds.

LAST year’s winner Craig Murphy did not compete but Douglas CS kept the senior boys’ individual title thanks to an impressive performance from Richard Quirke at the South Munster Schools cross-country championships hosted by Midleton CBS yesterday.
