In contrast to last week’s bruising battle, a dying, shifting breeze, pleasant sunshine and shortened courses were the order of the day for competitors in the North Sails-sponsored third week of the Kinsale Yacht Club Spring Series.

CONDITIONS were quite horrible for the final race of the PC Scaffold May Mid Week league at Kinsale, southerly winds of 20 knots gusting, a big swell, poor visibility and rain-like needles to compound the misery.

HEAVY fog was a dampener, but it did not affect the final race in the Kevin O’Leary Nissan April League series at Kinsale YC and had no effect on the celebrations by the overall class winners.
