A motorcyclist who agreed to take a new bike out for a test drive for a friend panicked when he was stopped by a garda and took off at a speed of up to 130kmh in Cork City.

THREE separate investigations are under way to establish how a young man, who died after receiving a shock while climbing an ESB pylon, was able to scale the structure.

THE ESB has been urged to improve safety in relation to pylons following the death of a 20-year-old man who was electrocuted after he received a shock from a pylon on the southside of Cork city.
