A dentist convicted of sexually assaulting a young dental nurse has appealed against the Dental Council’s decision that his name should be erased from the list of registered dentists.

A jury of eight men and four women was sworn in yesterday to hear a case against a Cork dentist who denied sexually assaulting a nurse at his practice shortly before Christmas 2006.

THE Cork dentist on trial for sexually assaulting a dental nurse said the case had been a devastating and traumatic experience for him and his family.
