IN July 10 you published a long letter outlining the function of the Department of Health and Children. The focus was very much on the information and administration aspects. No doubt much of what is being done has merit and is serious business.

IT’S now expected of someone in the teaching profession to bemoan religious communities who sacked single mothers who had just given birth.

DAMIEN COOKE uses the phrase ‘potential life’ to describe the unborn (Irish Examiner, July 31). This is entirely incorrect. The correct phrase is ‘life with potential’.
