A professional Limerick courier who acted as a ‘storeman’ for a drugs gang in order to pay off gambling debts was yesterday jailed for five years at Limerick Circuit Court.

A professional Limerick courier rented an apartment in an affluent part of the city to run a huge drugs operation for a gang in order to pay off gambling debts, a court heard.

The mayor of Limerick, Cllr Gerry McLoughlin, was among the many public figures who attended the funeral yesterday of Limerick journalist Arthur Quinlan.

NINE counties were represented among 20 qualifiers who lined up for the GVM All Ireland €2,500 commercial championship at last week’s Cappamore Show in Co Limerick.
