A 22-year-old man is due in court later, charged in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in Co Donegal.

The Garda Ombudsman today launched an investigation into the death of a pedestrian struck by a car driven by an off-duty police officer.

Three pedestrians have been killed on the country's roads overnight.
