A man who raped a foreign student in the hall of her Carlow home after following her from a bus they had shared has been jailed for 10 years.

The funerals of two of the young women killed in Tuesday's crash in Co Kildare are taking place in Carlow today.

A college that the four Kildare crash victims had attended has said it is "devastated at the loss of four beautiful young girls."

Two young people who died in a road accident outside Carlow last night have been named.
