Four people have been killed in bomb blasts in the Kenyan capital Nairobi as British holidaymakers were being flown home early from the East African country’s other main town Mombasa.

Ten people have been wounded in a grenade attack at a restaurant south of the coastal city of Mombasa in Kenya, an official said.

A German tourist and a businessman were battered to death by thieves who followed them to their apartment at a Kenyan beach resort.

Italian tenor Giuseppe di Stefano has been flown home to Milan, following an attack on holiday in Kenya which left him in a coma.
