THE battle for Fitzgibbon Cup semi-final places commences this afternoon with games in LIT Grounds, UL Grounds and Dangean, while the fourth quarter-final is fixed for St. Pats Grounds, Drumcondra on Thursday.

LIMERICK IT, who host this year’s Datapac Fitzgibbon Cup weekend, will be anxious to be involved but must first beat Cork IT in Saturday’s quarter-final.

CHAMPIONS Waterford IT include five of last year’s team for their opening game in the Datapac Fitzgibbon Cup against Dublin IT at Ballygunner tomorrow (2 pm).

LIMERICK senior hurling coach Dave Keane is seeking to have Friday’s Datapac Fitzgibbon Cup semi-final between UL and WIT put back to next Tuesday.
