A 46-year-old man has been sentenced to 14 years in jail after being found guilty of all firearms and burglary charges relating to an attempted break in at the home of a Cork businessman over a year ago.

A man who gardaí claimed was spotted with a Remington 12-guage pump-action shotgun during an attempted burglary at a family home on the outskirts of Cork City, was yesterday found guilty at a jury trial.
