The 21-year-old pedestrian was taken to Beaumont Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The man, who was arrested on Friday, remains in Garda custody.

21-year-old Gerard Whyte from Ballymun died in the collision.

Officers are still in the process of talking to witnesses in a bid to establish the circumstances of the incident, in which a man in his 20s died.
