An Englishman who "struck it lucky" when he stole a gun safe containing €17,000 worth of gold jewellery after breaking into a Co Wicklow house has been jailed for 18 months.

A horrific murder/suicide that left two people dead and two others seriously injured may have been sparked by jealousy over a woman, it emerged tonight.
