YOUR headline ‘Five lives lost on blackspot’ (November 11) highlights the belief that drivers are not to blame for crashes that occur at these locations.

YOU reported that the National Safety Council criticised the Government for its road safety strategy (Irish Examiner, October 20), but both agree the big three are drink, seat belts and exceeding the speed limit.
