A teenager who set fire to a car wash in a petrol station and robbed the same shop 18 months later armed with a golf club has been sentenced to four years in prison by Judge Desmond Hogan.

Gardaí are preparing a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the murder of a 51-year-old man in Leixlip, Co Kildare, over the weekend.

Two separate murder investigations are underway this morning following the deaths of two men in violent incidents over the weekend in Co Cork and Co Kildare.
