Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said he believes there can be “decisive progress” on Brexit in the coming weeks — despite warning “there is still a fair amount of work to be done”.

Ireland’s largest hotels group has announced a €2m investment in one of Cork’s most successful hotels as part of a major rebranding, and has formally completed the takeover of the former Burlington Hotel, Dublin.

The DoubleTree by Hilton, the refurbished hotel in Dublin 4, last year enjoyed pre-tax profits of €2.16m after revenues jumped by 27% to €29.4m.
