Mining group Minmet has announced post-tax losses for the year to the end of December 2005 of $2.1m (€1.6m), slashing the figure from the year before of $11.3m (€8.8m).

Mining and exploration company MinMet has reached agreement on the sale of its Bjorkdal gold mine in Sweden to Canadian company Gold Ore Resources for $8m (€6.5m).

Irish mining and exploration company Minmet has started full in-pit mining at its Bjorkdal gold mine in northern Sweden.
