As a clean-up continued yesterday following a landslide on a major tourist route on Sunday evening, there were complaints about a lack of signage on minor roads to which people were diverted.

Lisburn’s Wesley Patterson and his Cork co-driver, Alan Whyte took their Ford Escort RS1800 to a fine victory in the Gleneagle Hotel Killarney Historic Rally.

A TOTAL of 27 arrests were made by gardaí during the annual Rally of Lakes, which attracted crowds estimated at between 40,000 and 50,000 to Killarney at the weekend.

UP to 25 people were arrested in Killarney, Co Kerry, over the weekend for public order offences.
