PJ Cooney and Arthur McDonagh had the first two wins of the 2013 Munster intermediate championship at the weekend.

JAMES O’DONOVAN and Ian Callanan gelled into a perfect team in their bowl of odds win over Christy Mullins and Jerry Gibbons in the annual St. Stephen’s Day challenge at Grange.

All the major fixtures in last weekend’s bowling programme were abandoned because of the continuing severe weather. The massive calendar of events planned for the Christmas period could also fall by the way unless a quick and sustained thaw sets in.
