While pleased that the issue of pornography and social networking was highlighted in The Irish Examiner (Oct 15 and 16), I was saddened by the reference to a young 17-year-old woman, still legally a child, as “Slane girl”.

The Joint Committee on Child Protection produced a carefully balanced report with over 60 recommendations based on 52 submissions, 33 items of correspondence, public and private sessions with legal, justice and medical experts and a comprehensive consultation process with young people.
