Government departments and State bodies will be exempt from sanctions and fines for misusing someone’s personal information under new Europe-wide laws set to come into force later this year.

Hackers have posted a database online that allegedly contains the personal information of nearly 50 million Turkish citizens in what is one of the largest public leaks of this scale.
