ALL-CONQUERING 11890 Killester refused to wilt as they secured their eighth win of an impressive season in Cork — but UCC Demons pushed them all the way (90-82) in the top Nivea For Men’s SuperLeague game of the weekend.

UL EAGLES reversed their recent SuperLeague result to end the National Cup hopes of Bord Gais Neptune on Saturday, while 11890 Killester are just two games away from retaining the title after an emphatic victory over Moycullen in their quarter-final clash.

FOR the first time in a long time UCC Demons found themselves on the receiving end last Sunday, when Hoops travelled down to Cork and dished out a surprise nine-point drubbing to collect their first Nivea for Men SuperLeague points of the season.

DEFENDING champions, UCC Demons, had to come from behind to defeat UCD/Marian and keep their early season record intact as the NIVEA for MEN SuperLeague as UL Eagles beat the other Cork team, Neptune for a third successive win.

KIERAN DONAGHY had his first full training session with defending champions Abrakebabra Tigers in Tralee on Tuesday but coach Mark Bernsen does not expect him to play a part in their opening Nivea for Men Superleague game at home to UCD Marian on Saturday night.
